LSS4 is the four-channel optical probe used in the ParticleTensorAI® PTA4 configuration. It detects time-dependent light-scattering signals from droplets or particles passing through the optical measurement region.
Role in ParticleTensorAI®
The four detector channels record scattered-light signals from different optical directions. These channels provide signal data for the ParticleTensorAI® analysis, where buffered sequences can be arranged as Particle Tensors and evaluated by an AI model.
The probe defines the optical signals available for analysis. The physical quantities or material-related properties that can be estimated depend on the recorded data and on the AI model developed and validated for the measurement task.
LSS4 in the PTA4 Configuration
| Component | PTA4 configuration |
|---|---|
| Optical probe | LSS4 |
| Control unit | CLEON |
| Detector channels | 4 |
| Evaluation approach | ParticleTensorAI® AI-based analysis |
In PTA4, the LSS4 probe is paired with the CLEON control unit. The system records time-resolved detector signals for ParticleTensorAI® processing.
Relationship to TSTOF
The LSS4 and CLEON hardware platform is also used for TSTOF measurements. ParticleTensorAI® and TSTOF use related optical measurement hardware, while their signal acquisition and evaluation approaches differ.
In ParticleTensorAI® operation, buffered signal sequences are represented as tensors and evaluated using an AI-based approach.
